OUR MISSION STATEMENT
TO ENHANCE THE DIGNITY, RESPECT
AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR AREA SENIORS.
The Senior Ambassadors Coalition (SAC) is a group of caring individuals representing organizations dedicated to enhancing the dignity, respect, and quality of life of all area senior adults. Through collaboration and communication, we educate and empower our community to improve access to services and availability of resources to area seniors and caregivers.
SAC was founded in 1998 when the BSA Foundation asked members of the community who worked with aging adults to assess the needs of this population, identify gaps in services and work to meet those needs. SAC is a 501(c)3 organization and represents a large diverse group of individuals, companies and organizations that provide services to this group.
WAYS THAT WE HELP
SAC PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
COMMUNITY FALL FESTIVAL
Since 1999, a free health fair and information event for area citizens.
OVERSIGHT FOR CRCGA
State mandated program, Community Resource Coordination Group for Adults develops individual plans of care for multiple complex needs.
RAISES AWARENESS OF ELDER ABUSE
Promotes activities that raise awareness of elder abuse.
GROCERY DELIVERY SERVICE
Coordinates a grocery delivery service for homebound individuals or impoverished citizens.
SPONSOR OF PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
Continuing education workshops to help those who care for senior adults.
ASSIST WITH SUPPLIES & REFERRALS
For the Silver Star Room at Adult Protective Services. This program provides personal care items for neglected senior adults.
PRODUCES VIALS OF LIFE
Produces and distributes Vials of Life and educational information to seniors about disaster preparedness.
ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION
Works to promote more accessible transportation for senior adults.
